SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS LIVE SHOW REVIEW & PHOTOS

The day Slash brought Myles Kennedy into his band was the day it became great.  Obviously Slash is a legendary shredder but a voice is needed to complete it and that’s what Myles does.  Along with Todd Kerns on bass, Brent Fitz on drums and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar Slash has put together some amazing musicians and with them has created some of his best work, adding to his legendary status achieved through his Guns N’ Roses catalog.

This evening they would find themselves back at the House of Blues Boston.  Located across the street from the legendary Fenway Park this is a great venue to catch a show so long as there isn’t a Red Sox gaming taking place.  If there is beware parking becomes a nightmare and absolutely outrageous topping the $50 mark.  I also recommend arriving early to hit some of the local watering holes including my favorite the Lansdowne Pub.  A great place to warm up with some pre-show beverages.

I have seen Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators many times and if the trend continued it was going to be a great show.  As I arrive to the venue about 15 minutes before they are to go onstage the crowd is already amped up.  There is no doubt that this line-up has gained a strong allegiance.  Taking the stage they rip into “The Call Of The Wild” off of their latest release Living The Dream, and they sound tight.  I’m telling you if you’ve never seen Myles Kennedy with either Slash, Alter Bridge or on his recent solo tour you are missing out on seeing one of the greatest frontman of our time.  He has such a powerful voice with amazing range.  And his stage presence is electric, engaging the crowd he just seems so relaxed and completely enjoying himself.  It doesn’t stop with Myles, Todd Kearns on bass tears up the stage with his monster presence also providing vocals on “We’re All Gonna Die” and “Doctor Alibi” and he sounds awesome.  Fitz’s drumming is outstanding and Sidoris adds to the perfect chemistry.  Of course then there is Slash himself with his signature top hat and sunglasses that presents himself as a bit mysterious but always in the spotlight.  This is without a doubt one of the premiere line-ups in rock n’ roll today.

Now on their fourth release Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators have built enough of a catalog without having to lean on G N’ R hits, giving Boston one Guns cover, “Rocket Queen”.  And now that Slash has reunited with Axl there is no need to flood the setlist with Guns N’ Roses material.  Also mixed into the playlist are a few from Slash’s prior solo catalog and a Velvet Revolver song to top things off.  Absolutely a great night of rock n’ roll and a great opportunity to see these great talents on the small stage.  This is a show not to be missed and I suggest grabbing tickets early as these shows are selling out.  Catch Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators on tour now!  And be sure to pick up a copy of their latest release Living The Dream.
