He who has ears to hear, let him hear, For this is a tale of an ancient kind, In the word there lies existence and the word became flesh, And dwelt among us and we saw its glory, Let him hear it who will
Every soul heard, Some ran and hid away, Some listened, Some laughed, Most just stood there, Motionless, Silent, And forgetting
Magical and mesmerizing…the mystical journey through time that Eluveitie takes us on with every song is a luscious adventure that every music lover craves from the moment they’ve allowed them to penetrate their senses with the reverberation of every note. Intertwining traditional folk instruments with modern and heavy guitars, along with vocals sung in both modern and extinct languages, Eluveitie becomes a vehicle for exploration of parallel universes of the present and the past.
The timewarp happened at the Mercury Ball Room in Louisville KY on 10/01/2015, when our century became one with the 3rd and 4th centuries, when Eluveitie took the stage after The Agonist and Martina Edoff. What happened after Eluveitie unfolded on stage was both traversive and sorcerous, playing songs from Origins, as well as Helvetios, and then shutting it all down to delight the Kentucky crowd with traditional and uplugged Irish folk tunes. Music lovers from all spectrums delighted in musical satisfaction, and metal heads softened their harsh exteriors to allow the melodies to permeate their metallic shells.
Prior to the show however, we were fortunate to have been able to sit down with Chrigel himself, and talk about the album, the tour, the loss of Nicole Ansperger, and music in general!
