It’s literally been a year since their tour was cut short. The bus that transported this epic band across Europe...
DevilDriver works hard, rocks harder, and kicks ass all the way - from their albums to their shows. This band does not take rocking lightly. It is heavy and heavy as we like it. They recently revealed the track listing for their new effort Winter Kills, and the RockRevolt staff went ape shit. We await with baited breath for the album that releases August 27th. So excited were we that we tracked down lead singer Dez to get to the root of the album.
Candlelight Red, a hard rock quartet straight out of rural Pennsylvania, has taken the world by storm! With their single...
Pamela Moore. Visually, she is a very captivating woman. Her voice is one of many layers and textures. If you're a fan of rock and metal, there's a good chance that you have heard her voice before, even if the name is not familiar. Queensryche fans, as well as many in the metal world, know her as Suite Sister Mary. She traveled with the band bringing life and death to the character from the band's Operation: Mindcrime works. Well, she is back in a major way and is about to unveil a new chapter in her on-going musical novel.
Zardonic – an evil sounding name, but an amazing artist nonetheless. Fine lines exist between metal music and various other genres, and Zardonic is an artist that fuses metal with danceable drum and bass. From Venezuela, Zardonic dishes his music unlike any other artist today. With his musical and mixing prowess, he is entrancing the world over with his vision. With his album Vulgar Display Of Bass releasing just last year, Zardonic prepares to release a full-length remix album titled Far Beyond Bass - The Vulgar Remixes, and in the meantime, RockRevolt Magazine was able to steal a moment of this artists' time and get to know some of his inner workings.
Once in a while in this crazy world of music, a band comes along that makes you not only do a double take, but a double listen. That is a common reaction when one discovers the band Stolen Babies. In an oversaturated musical sea of vanilla tones, this band has come along with a huge dose of musical sprinkles to offer us something that defies genre and provides an overload for all senses. This type of a band is a rarity in music these days and deserves to be investigated further. Upon one listen to the newest album Naught, I knew I had to delve deeper into the musical mystery of this band Stolen Babies.
It's no secret that the music industry is a bit schizophrenic these days with so many "here today, gone today" artists everywhere you look. It seems as if labels are focused on their immediate return instead of investing in an artist for long term rewards. Longevity and true talent are far down on the list of artist requirements these days. Then, along comes a band from Peoria, Illinois that makes you stand up and take notice. Ladies and gentlemen, and fellow appreciators of great music, I give you Mindset Evolution.
What's in a name? More specifically, what's in a band's name? Well, sometimes there's a science behind it and sometimes you just pull it out of a hat. John Rzeznik and his crew needed a name change back "in the day" as promoters were having a hard time promoting his band the Sex Maggots. Instead of pulling a name out of a hat, they pulled it out of a True Detective magazine in an ad for a goo goo doll. To this day, John wished he would have had five more minutes to pick a better name.
The U.K. has given U.S. rock and roll fans plenty of classic bands throughout the history of music. They have blessed us with The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, just to name a few. There definitely seems to have been something magical in the creative water over there to produce so many legendary bands. There's a new band making waves in that creative water across the seas and they are poised to take the U.S. by storm. They go by the name of Heaven's Basement and they have come to chew bubble gum and kick ass. Yes, you guessed it; they are all out of bubble gum.
Zardonic – un nombre con tono malevolo, pero aun asi, el nombre de un artista impresionante. Zardonic es un artista...
Amaranthe is a six member modern melodic death metal band hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden. I know, I can hear some of the mumblings now, "Oh great! Another one of "those" bands from Sweden!" Now, before you pass judgment on the band, you may want to give them a chance. This band stands out from the pack for many reasons and one of the most intriguing is that they have three lead vocalists: one female, one clean vocals and one screamer. Now, if that doesn't at least make you a little curious, then just read on.
Antigone Rising is a band comprised of Kristen Henderson on bass, her sister Cathy Henderson on lead guitar, Dena Tauriello on drums and Nini Camps on rhythm guitar and lead vocals. The band founded in 1993 and has seen some personnel changes along their 20 year journey, but they stay focused on making their dream a reality. They are currently working on a new EP that will see the light of day very soon. I had the privilege of talking to guitarist Cathy Henderson as I caught her on her way to the recording studio.
