There are many comparisons made of Synth Pop newcomers ASHRR—Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails–but the first names that came to mind for me was Jim Morrison and Nick Cave, though the music production, by Artist / Producers Ethan Allen and Josh Charles, definitely recalls Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails. Maybe it’s Steven Davis’s crooning vocals, both Bowie-esque in tone and Morrison in intensity, that bring Nick Cave to mind, or the lyrical content itself. In any case, this trio is definitely one to watch for, as they’re set to release several more singles and an EP over the next few months.
