ALBUM REVIEW: HOGAN’S GOAT –

Hogan's Goat
Hogan’s Goat

Hogan’s Goat is an up-and-coming young rock band that really has their shit together! Their debut self-titled album is perfect to have on while playing video games, which I am doing! The band is really good at rhythm and time changing as a whole. With very unique guitar riffs, some funky, Hogan’s Goat showcases a true variety of style.

Each instrument bounces off the next, fitting together, while providing to the ultimate sound/song. The undertone of that sound they’re manifesting is almost psychedelic, which is hard to find in the metal scene. However, they do it quite well, with well-written, sexy music.

First off, “Rat Boy,” starts the album with a bang. And, when they chose half-time for the bridge, it made me want to shimmy my lady hips! It was a great musical choice on their part, for sure! “Annie On The Rails” is filled with intricate drums with many clean accents and shows how well the band can sync together. The song “Over The Palisade” brings a ton of attention to their strong vocal dynamics, and “If I’m Dead” allows their guitarist to show off some crazy cool mystical sounds, which helps push out that psychedelic undertone that really sets them apart from other bands today.

I can blab on about the band’s music, but the best is actually listening to them yourself and experiencing it! The album is set to release July 18, 2017! But until then you can check out some of their jams and follow the band at the links below.
