U.S. thrash legends Flotsam And Jetsam will release their new self-titled album on May 20th under AFM Records. This lineup of Flotsam and Jetsam is Eric “AK” Knutson – vocals, Steve Conley – guitars, Michael Gilbert – guitars, Michael Spencer – bass, Jason Bittner – drums. For all the people that love thrash metal, you recognize these names and their sound no matter where you hear them. This album is the product of the hard work of these guys since January of 2015, and let’s just say…. THE WAIT WAS WELL WORTH IT!!! This album is very solid and worth a listen.

The time and effort put towards this piece of work is extremely noticeable right from the first track, “Seventh Seal”. “Seventh Seal” is the opening track of this dynamic album. It is a hard hitting track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The guitar riff for this song is stuck in my head and definitely embodies the sound of Flotsam and Jetsam. The second song on this record is “Life is a Mess”; the main takeaway from this particular song for me was the guitar solo. The first single off of this album was a song entitled, “Iron Maiden”, and you can hear the Iron Maiden influence within this song. The song has vocals similar to legendary frontman Bruce Dickinson throughout. My favorite song on this album is “L.O.T.D.”; it is a song with the key elements of rock that we all love: great vocals, great guitars, great drums, banging riff, and excellent lyrics. The song structure and the melody of this song is the most unique and completely stuck out from the rest of the album.
