No better place for a Halloween show than the Voodoo.

On October 31st 2015 the Voodoo Lounge at Harrah’s Casino in Kansas City threw their own Halloween party. What better bands to play on a night famous for costumes and celebration than a trio of tribute bands.

First to the stage was Strictly Alice, an Alice Cooper tribute band as I am sure you could tell from the name. Strictly Alice started the night out with a show that Mr. Cooper would be proud of. Not only did they bring the sounds of Alice Cooper but they brought the sights as well. Strictly Alice came loaded to the gills with props to make for an amazing stage show. My least favorite part was the giant snake that was delivered to Steve LaCerte by his sexy nurse assistant, and that is just because I am a giant pansy who is scared of snakes. Other than that it was really awesome watching Steve on stage with it. From costume changes, to playing a grinder on his saw blade belt that made the sparks fly, Strictly Alice was a treat for all the senses and definitely a must see.

Keeping the party going next were the bad boys of Looks That Kill a Motley Crue tribute band. I am not going to lie, but Bill Cameron nailed the vocal stylings of Vince Neil almost better than Vince does himself. Looks That Kill covered a wide range of Motley Crue’s music that covers their entire catalog playing songs like “Live Wire” and “Girls, Girls, Girls” threw the crowd back in time to when hairspray, spandex, and makeup ruled the glam metal scene. They closed out the show with one of the Motley greats “Home Sweet Home.” Looks That Kill totally plays tribute to one of the largest bands of their time and while The Crue is hanging them up at the end of the year, don’t worry. Looks That Kill will still be keeping the music alive.

Closing out the night was Mistress of Reality, an all-female Black Sabbath tribute band hailing from Los Angeles, CA. Yes I know, an all-female cover band, well unless you have seen them shut the hell up. These ladies took to the stage and delivered one hell of a set. From front woman Izzy Osbourne to drummer Jill Ward, these ladies rained down the sounds of Sabbath on to the Voodoo crowd. Nancy Iommi played with the spirit of Tony Lommi running threw her veins as she captured the unique playing style that we all have seen for many years. Mistress of Reality was a true sight to see and experience as they closed out a night of phenomenal tributes to some of Metal gods of our time. Make sure if you see any of these bands playing in your area to go see them. You will not be disappointed, you will be thrown back in time and possibly relive some of the great moments of your past.
