AUGUST BURNS RED

The melodic metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, AUGUST BURNS RED, made their second stop of their Messengers 10 year anniversary tour Thursday night in Silver Spring, Maryland. ABR’s second album, Messengers, was released 10 years ago and became the band’s breakthrough album, selling over 80,000 copies. In honor of the landmark album, ABR’s playing the full disc at a number of venues throughout North America through February 18th concluding in their hometown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The show Thursday night at The Fillmore Silver Spring was in-your-face jam packed full of energy the entire set. The guys were on point and clearly having a blast partying like it was 2007. The stage featured mesmerizing lighting with Messengers in large bold print underneath the drums and an AUGUST BURNS RED backdrop. The crowd was rocking with an intense mosh pit and crowd surfers flying. The band ripped through songs from their second album, and concluded with an exciting encore featuring a drum solo by Matt Greiner and a few of their newer hits like “Fault Line” and “Ghosts”. The rest of the current lineup includes Jake Luhrs on vocals, JB Brubaker and Brent Rambler shredding guitar, and Dustin Davidson on bass.
