The theme of ‘Mark of the Blade’ is a celebration of Whitechapel being together for ten years and the fans that support us no matter what,” stated by vocalist Phil Bozeman. This album has every element to confirm the notion of them celebrating their fans and careers. This album starts with the dynamic record “The Void”, which is a great opening track and it catches your attention from the beginning with the vocals and the double kick drum beat. The next song was the title track “Mark of the Blade”, for this to be the lead single as well as the album title it was the perfect selection. This song has the ability to make you remember every rhythm and every lyric of this song. The chorus will stick in your head for years to come due to the fact that it is so catchy and the rhythm makes it easy to jam to. My two songs to be aware of are “Elitist Ones” and “Decennium”. “Elitist Ones” is my favorite song on this album. I loved the rhythm and the song writing with this particular song caught me from the beginning. This album is out now and you should definitely give it a listen, it is absolutely worth it.
