Ted Nugent has announced “The Music Made Me Do It AGAIN!” summer tour through the U.S. Current dates on schedule begin in July and wrap up in August.
“Celebrating the soundtrack to the American Dream in 2019 — 60 years later — is more fun, stimulating, exciting and gratifying now than ever before,” Nugent told Ultimate Classic Rock. “With master groovemonsters Greg Smith and Jason Hartless at my side, the music makes us do it like animals every night, every gig, every song, every lick. I got your BigFunDirtyGrooveNoize right here America!”
Nugent has been playing hard rock and psychedelic rock since the ’60s. The “Stranglehold” and “Cat Scratch Fever” rocker made his mark on rock ‘n’ roll history selling more than 40 million albums and performing for more than 6,400 live concerts. He was named Detroit’s greatest guitarist in a 428-person poll by Michigan’s MLive!, surpassing artists such as Jack White and Marshall Crenshaw. He also self-authored 5 books about music, politics, hunting and grilling.
The American singer-songwriter, guitarist and political activist announces the tour following the November 2018 release of 14th solo studio album, The Music Made Me Do It. The new album features 10 new tracks and Nugent’s live performance at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Nugent said that the album’s new songs were completed in just five days.
“I play my guitar everyday,” Nugent said. “I wrote a song this morning. Well, I don’t know if I wrote it, but somebody did, divine inspiration. The same way the founding fathers wrote the Constitution is how I make music. God looked down at me, laughed hysterically and went, ‘Try this, motherf-cker!'”
