From the band’s official Facebook page, “Jinjer is a Ukrainian female fronted band which plays a mixture of progressive metalcore and groove metal, with some inlays of funk, reggae and jazz, though on their second LP the band shifted a bit to death metal of the European school. Jinjer were formed in 2010, when Tatiana Shmailyuk joined the guys as a vocalist. In 2013, the band were acknowledged as the best metal band of the year in Ukraine.”
This female front acted is not one to miss The Ukrainian natives put on an explosive performance, opening direct for DevilDriver at the sold-out Whisky a Go Go. A good chunk of the crowd were sporting “Jinjer” merch and shirts, showcasing how widespread the band’s success has become. With an explosive sound that intermingles a variety of fun genres, the melody went from hard and aggressive to funky and melodic. Circle pits were going wild, with the audience having a blast letting loose during the show. A special treat for Jinjer fans to see this act up-close at a more intimate venue!
