Who are you and what is your role in the band?
I’m Carli Foxx, I am the lead vocalist and play rhythm guitar.
How did the band get started?
I actually started the band late in high school to play at the variety show they host every year, and I kept going with the band after I graduated.
Who are your influences and how do they play a role in your sound?
Our main influences are The Runaways, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Veruca Salt, Liz Phair, The Donnas, Betty Blowtorch, The Cramps, Motley Crue, The Last Vegas, etc. (We have many)
What has been your most meaningful experience being in this band so far?
It’s hard to say because we’ve had so many different lineup changes, but I’d have to go with the time we opened for Joan Jett & The Blackhearts because she’s basically our biggest influence on all of this.
Favorite memory from a show you’ve played or a place you’ve travelled?
I have a couple different ones. Obviously, the Joan Jett show was awesome, but my favorite part was when she standing on the right side of the stage by her guitar tech, and I turn over and realize it was her, and she smiled right me, and I just couldn’t believe Joan Jett was right there jammin’ out to my band.
My second favorite memory would probably be the last night of our first tour we did this summer with Drugs Delaney. The show was at Durand Illinois’ Biker Fest, and it was probably the best show we’ve ever played, and the goodbye celebrations to follow that night were just out of our minds FUN! You can catch us at The Biker Fest again this year!
What do you hope to accomplish with your music?
I don’t ever want to see rock n roll die. Sadly, as cool as the underground scene is, so many great bands are underground right now and they aren’t exposed to the mass majority, even though they’re SO amazing! So, I want to get rock n roll back out there and give as many people the amazing experiences I’ve had with rock n roll music. I also want to get out there and show everyone that women are FAST, STRONG and POWERFUL and they can do whatever the hell they want, including playing in a great rock band.
Something about you that no one knows?
My first concert was a Dierks Bentley concert and I was actually dying to go. Shhhh.
What is next for the band?
We’re getting all the albums in, new merch, and preparing for our release shows for our first full length album, “HOTBANG” (March 30 – The Cabooze – Minneapolis, MN | March 31 – The Back Bar – Janesville, WI | April 1 – Spicoli’s Rockade – Waterloo, IA). Then I plan on start booking a summer tour for The Rumours! There will be a new music video coming your way as well!
