ALBUM REVIEW: ART OF ANARCHY – THE MADNESS

Now, this is an album I truly enjoyed! From 1 to 10 these songs can be heard individually, or just one after the other in repeat. Make no mistake that the future belongs to Art of Anarchy!

The Madness which was released on March 24, 2017, via Century Media is the second and brand new album of Art of Anarchy, marking a new era for the band that was formed back in 2011. With the recent addition of former Creed singer Scott Stapp as their frontman, alongside lead guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (formerly from Guns N’ Roses), bassist John Moyer from Disturbed, and of course the twin brothers Jon Votta (guitar) and Vince Votta (drums), the band seems to be taking the highroad.

The early loss of Scott Weiland, lead vocalist of the band, left them with a huge gap last year. Others would have been taken down, but this unbearable loss made them only stronger than before. It was then when the Grammy Award winner Scott Stapp got on board. “I was approached by the AOA guys and asked to join them last year. This project has been a very cool, unique experience for me. I’m proud of our work and made some great friendships along the way. It’s been great collaborating with artists from different backgrounds, and you can definitely hear it in the music,” he said.

The title track is a beautiful rock song with great tempo and lyrics, but that’s something we already very well know as it’s the first song to be released months ago, giving a first sense of what to expect. I really like each and every one of the 10 tracks included in this album; however, I do have some favorites. “Echo of a Scream”, “1000 Degrees” and “No Surrender”, the three first songs of the album, are the ones that I like the most. All three of them are upbeat rock songs with great rhythm. “Somber” on the other hand, reminds me something of the classic rock ballads of the 90’s, that everybody loves.

Art of Anarchy have just finished touring around the States, with more dates coming up in the next months. Stay tuned and don’t miss them!
