My name is Matthew Schwartz and I am the writer, producer, singer, and other odds and ends for Pacifico.
How did the band get started?
Pacifico started as a side project that we deemed better than the main project. We started as a three piece and then moved into becoming a five piece and finally morphed into the collective we are today.
Who are your influences and how do they play a role in your sound?
The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Radiohead, Starflyer 59, and David Bazan among others.
I definitely steal their sense of melody, their production techniques, harmonies, arrangements, guitar tones and more…
What has been your most meaningful experience being in this band so far?
What means the most is when someone tells me how much a certain song means to them and has changed their life. I feel like I was put on this earth to make and share music and when people connect with it, that’s the ultimate payoff.
Favorite memory from a show you’ve played or a place you’ve travelled?
I don’t have one particular memory. Honestly the best part of touring and playing shows is meeting new people and seeing old friends. Seeing the beautiful world is a plus too.
What do you hope to accomplish with your music?
I just want to reach and touch someone. If that happens I’m content.
Something about you that no one knows?
I’ve always wanted to do stand-up comedy. I have so many joke ideas written down. I’m just very afraid to follow through with trying it.
What is next for the band?
After this tour we plan to do a music video or two, we have some music in the movie Phony due out next year and we plan on working on the next album…not sure what the direction for that is yet.

We hope everyone loves our new album Everest. Thanks for having me. We are sad we are missing Alabama on this tour.
