Arrow Video has been killing it - seriously, every month they seem to dig up another lost blood fest that has tumbled into obscurity and this article is to inform you - they’ve done it yet again.
Back in the bloody, bloody 80’s - 1982 to be exact - director J.S. Cardone brought us The Slayer - a fun little creature feature that was a VHS shelf staple. Thanks to Arrow - it’s making its way to Blu-ray.
In case you’ve never seen it - here’s the synopsis and the original trailer from back in ’82.
“Two young couples set off to a secluded island for what promises to be a restful retreat. But the peace is short-lived: As a storm batters the island, troubled artist Kay begins to sense that a malevolent presence is here with them, stalking them at every turn. Is she losing her mind, or are her childhood nightmares of a demonic assailant coming to terrifying life?”
Special features are not overly impressive but - they’ll do.
Special Features:
- Brand new interviews with cast and crew
- Original theatrical trailer
- Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Justin Osbourn
August 22nd is when it hits US shelves - add it to the must have list.
