If you’re a fan of amazing metal music that pulses your bones and shakes you to your core, you’ve most definitely heard of one of our favorite hard-hitting bands, Ministry. Sin Quirin, guitarist for the band since 2006, will be donating his custom Schecter Corsair to the Hard Rock Café on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The piece will be unveiled to the public on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 5pm.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sin grew up going to the Hard Rock as teenager. “I always hoped one day I would be lucky enough to have one of my guitars up on those walls,” he says. As a teenager gazing upon the guitars of players that inspired him to live his passion, Sin Quirin, along with everyone visiting the Hard Rock on Hollywood Blvd. will now be able to see one of his own there. One can only imagine the enormity of this moment for the Sin, a hard-working musician dedicated to always delivering the best to the fans of his music now delivering a piece of himself, of his own metal history, to the public. It’s an incredible honor, to be sure.
This particular guitar that is being displayed has some very special history to Sin. On August 10 and 11, 2007, Sin along with Al Jourgensen, lead vocalist for Ministry, joined their friends in Cheap Trick onstage for two sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl. The shows were to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The custom-made Schecter Corsair – a beautifully stunning instrument to behold in its own right – being donated by Sin to the Hard Rock was only used for these two shows. “That is a one of a kind guitar, so you can see why it’s so special to me,” says Sin. You can see photos of Sin and this beauty in action in our gallery below!
That teenager with a dream is now a highly successful guitarist with two Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance for his time in Ministry. Fans of his work, and dreamers like Sin himself, will be able to see this beautiful guitar prominently displayed in one of the most popular Hard Rock Café locations. This is a true testament to the idea that dreams can, and do, come true. The spot reserved for his guitar has been earned for over a lifetime’s work of pursuing that dream; this, for sure, is a moment much deserved for this incredibly talented musician.
Be sure to head over to the Hard Rock on Hollywood if you’re in the area. We can’t wait to check it out ourselves!
