Seattle-based rock outfit, Vespera, released a powerful statement and video for their single, “Paradise” via Alternative Press this morning. This video is not only a visual wonder – sometimes hard to watch but so important to see – but it is also a joint effort with the JED Foundation . The JED Foundation is an organization that promotes emotional health and suicide prevention in teens and young adults.
In today’s day and age when mental illness and suicide can become buzzwords in the news, vocalist Jonathan Wolfe puts a human spin behind the words we read in the media. As he told Alternative Press in their exclusive release of the video and Wolfe’s powerful essay,
“I want people to have a safe place to talk about what goes on in their minds without being judged or ridiculed. Maybe if we end the stigma, so many of us won’t feel so isolated. I hope my story will help push the conversation of mental health in the right direction.”
We couldn’t agree more. Please read the original article, including his powerful essay, here.
