STONE SOUR LIVE SHOW REVIEW AND PHOTOS

Ozzy Osbourne’s No More Tours 2 would make its way into Massachusetts Xfinity Center as lightning threatened to interrupt this late summer show.  The sold-out crowd would not only be treated to The Prince of Darkness on this evening, one of today’s best would kick things off, Corey Taylor’s Stone Sour.

Founded in 1992 by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor it wasn’t until the new century that Stone Sour got things rolling.  Since then Taylor and Co. have put out six studio albums amassing sales of over 2 million in the U.S. alone and have been nominated for 3 Grammy’s.  This band alone is worthy of headlining the 20K Xfinity Center but who could pass up an opportunity to kick things off for the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.

Typically, in the opening slot most bands give a very basic stage show.  That wouldn’t be the case with Stone Sour.  Working with limited space they made the best of it as photographers were warned about the pyro like units emitting colorful sparkler like flames giving some added color to the set.  Teamed with risers and a great light show this more than kicked off a killer evening.

Stone Sour would give a colorful, powerful 10-song setlist that included three monsters off their 2017 release Hydrograd.  Leading this charge and opening the show was “Taipei Person/Allah Tea”.  “Song #3” would also see it’s way to the set and they closed out with Fabuless”.

Even though Stone Sour is billed as the opener you really feel like you’re getting two headliners.  And for the high-ticket price it makes sense to have an opener worthy of headline status.  As for the Prince of Darkness, at almost his seventh decade on the planet you wouldn’t know it.  He finished off the night with an absolutely killer set belting out vocals like he was 40-years younger.  If you’re reluctant to pay the price to see this package let me help you out, pay the price! It’s well worth it.  Catch Stone Sour on tour now with Ozzy Osbourne and pick up a copy of their latest effort Hydrograd.
