The Trick ‘R Treat Tour featuring Motionless in White, We Came As Romans, After the Burial, and Twiztid, stopped in Birmingham, Alabama last week.
This tour is surprisingly diverse in its acts. Rap, Heavy Metal, Metalcore, and Horror music all wrapped into one evening. (For those attending future dates of this tour, be prepared for copious amounts of strobe lights.)
Twiztid is an acquired taste. I understand they have a die-hard following, though. There were at least 150 people in the room who were only there to see them and left the show afterwards. But they fit perfectly with the “Halloween” theme of this tour.
After The Burial was decent enough. Their musical style fit in with the theme of this tour as well from the fact that it was scary.
We Came As Romans was the best set of the evening and the band most out of place on this tour. Since the passing of Kyle Pavone, there has been an obvious shift in the band. Having followed them around for years, there is a sadness watching them play. But it takes strength to move forward and for that, they should be celebrated.
Motionless in White had an array of pumpkins with flickering candles set up. Chris’ mic stand was in the shape of a creepy light post. They made it feel like Halloween which was something different and refreshing. Motionless In White is what I automatically think of when I think of things that are scary. There was also a dancing pumpkin!!!
Overall, it was a good night and if you like diversity, then this is the tour for you!
