It has just been confirmed that Ashton Nyte (The Awakening) will be supporting Wayne Hussey (The Mission) on the European dates of the Salad Daze Tour. Nyte will be joining Hussey on over 30 shows from 3 Sep to 16 Oct on a tour which celebrates the release of Hussey’s autobiography “Salad Daze” out now via Omnibus Press.
Nyte first performed with Hussey in South Africa in 2015 and then supported The Mission for 17 shows across Europe in 2016 with his gothic rock act The Awakening. The Salad Daze Tour will see both artists performing solo in a more intimate setting. “It will be absolutely wonderful touring with Wayne again! The Mission were a significant influence on the genesis of The Awakening and Wayne has remained an inspiration in my artistic life. I am also blessed to call him a friend” says Ashton Nyte.
Wayne Hussey adds,”I met Ashton and that beautiful baritone voice of his a few years back and we have since remained friends and supporters of each other’s work. Of course we both also continue to be heavily involved with Michael Ciravolo’s ‘Beauty In Chaos’ project. So it is with huge pleasure I can confirm that Ashton will be supporting me on the mainland Europe (except Greece & Sweden) leg of my ‘Salad Daze’ tour. It’ll be great to have him along for the ride. Bring your driving license, Ashton, you can share the driving, there’s an awful lot of it.”
Both Nyte and Hussey were recent collaborators on Michael Ciravolo’s “Beauty In Chaos” project, which also features members of The Cure, Ministry, Cheap Trick and many others. “The entire experience has been magical. I wrote and sang 3 of my favorite songs with Michael and also sang backing vocals for Robin Zander, Wayne Hussey and Rolan Bolan. Life is certainly full of surprises” adds Nyte.
