If you have not heard of Ded well then quite frankly you must be dead. Starting from the trenches of the Phoenix area music scene, Ded has been working its way to the top of the ladder with their take no prisoner approach at every rung. 2017 has seen Ded scour the country playing show after show and festival after festival. It is as if they said to themselves that they should not wait until Mis-an-thrope drops to support it, we should let them know what they are in store for and that is just what they have done.
Luckily for those of you who have not seen Ded yet, their Debut album Mis-an-thrope will hit the shelves and digital downloads on July 21, 2017. I put the definition at the top of the page because to be honest I had no clue what the hell the title of the album meant. After hearing the album and learning the meaning of the title it all made sense. Mis-an-thrope is an anthem for all of us that are sick and tired of all the bull shit and ready to stand up for what we believe in.
The second single off Mis-an-thrope, Anti-Everything has been blasting through speakers around the world for quite some time and has made everyone thirsty for more. As they say themselves Ded are “ripping the rules apart” with the songs on the album by just putting it out there without sugar coating a damn thing. Dead To Me, a track that was written with producer John Feldmann, has recently found its way in to the rotation of many a radio station and Spotify playlist in the recent weeks, is a powerful track that still portrays the band and the albums message but still does not yet show you what they are capable of and the sound they possess. Tracks like the lead single FMFY and Rope are where you start see what they are really capable of producing which just opens a Pandora’s box of options for Ded moving forward, and let’s not forget that softer side of the band with Beautiful, which still has that hint of hostility mixed with in
Mis-an-thrope is a balance love, hate, anger, and passion all rolled into one package, delivered a multitude of ways that all tie into one another to show the musical talent and ability that these four men from the desert are capable of.
