This past summer, a torrent of water caused by an intense storm ripped through Ellicott City, Maryland’s historic downtown, killing two and causing massive destruction that could take many months to recover. Within two hours, nearly six inches of rain had fallen, as the National Weather Service predicted, statistically, occurs there just once every 1,000 years.
On September 24, 2016 from 12:00PM to 11:00PM, the Columbia, Maryland venue Merriweather Post Pavilion (The venue that hosts Maryland’s annual Vans Warped Tour) will give Mid-Atlantic residents a huge opportunity to discover new music by hosting the 5th annual Main Street Music Festival this year. Usually, the festival is held in Ellicott City’s historic downtown but the city is still in the process of rebuilding. 100% of its event proceeds will be donated to the Ellicott City Partnership and its efforts to assist those merchants and residents impacted by the tragic flood.
